Typical Day
Weekend Camps typically begin Thursday afternoon with registration, a brief orientation, and an evening ice time followed by a meet and greet reception. Friday and Saturday consist of two 2 hour ice sessions and a lecture scheduled to allow you to take advantage of the camp location. Saturday night is a dinner banquet for all campers and staff. Your last ice time is Sunday morning, allowing for afternoon travel. Click on the individual Weekend Camp locations for details.
One Week Camps follow a similar format that allows for more instruction throughout the week. Daily lectures, recreational activities, and a team dinner are scheduled between and after the on-ice sessions throughout the week. Some locations also offer optional ice times to allow for an additional opportunity to work on specific skills. Every evening after the second ice time, coaches and players gather to talk hockey over a cool beverage. The camp has an end of week banquet and the last day is reserved for travel home.
At both weekend and week long camps, the day's early session will focus on individual skills such as power skating, stick handling, passing and shooting. The second ice time will focus on positional play and game strategy. Instructional scrimmages will also be held during this time.
